Seasonal Allergy and Allergic Rhinitis
Seasonal and year-round allergies affect more than 50 million Americans--that's one in 5 people!  This makes allergy one of the costliest medical problems confronting our society.  Fairfax Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Clinic offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of all types of nasal allergy using the most current treatment techniques.  Most diagnosis is done via skin testing, which is painless and will be completed quickly in our offices.  Other forms of diagnosis, including blood testing, are also available. We offer state of the art immunotherapy treatment (allergy shots) so that our patients can achieve long-term remission from their allergy symptoms.  No appointments are necessary in our immunotherapy clinic, and free WiFi is always available!

Asthma
Asthma affects more than 20 million Americans, and 6 million American children.  Early diagnosis and treatment can be life changing, allowing asthma sufferers to lead normal, symptom-free lives.  At Fairfax Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Clinic, we are experts in pediatric and adult asthma treatment, and we offer treatment plans specifically designed for each of our patients.  Our staff is specially trained in the latest treatment techniques, and we have the time to make sure you leave with a complete understanding of all testing, medications, and asthma devices.  Our patients understand how to prevent asthma symptoms and lead healthy, active, symptom-free lives!

Sinus Disease
Allergy can lead to poor sinus health.  Sinus infections are a leading trigger of cough and other asthma and allergy-like symptoms, so identifying and correcting allergic triggers is an important part of maintaining respiratory health.  The experts at Fairfax Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Clinic are trained to evaluate sinus problems as they relate to allergic disease, to help alleviate chronic congestion, post nasal drip and headache.

Eczema/Atopic Dermatitis
At Fairfax Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Clinic, we understand that dry itchy skin can put a damper on almost any activity, as well as keep you and your family up all night!  Our providers have special training in the treatment of atopic dermatitis and other allergic rashes.  We also pride ourselves on the special care that we provide to our pediatric patients with eczema, especially as it relates to food allergy.

Food Allergy
The prevalence of food allergy is increasing at an alarming rate, and so is the amount of information available about this important problem.  But sorting out the fact from the fiction without expert assistance can be nearly impossible. XXX.

Insect/Venom Allergy
Insect stings can be life-threatening for some allergy sufferers, and this makes accurate diagnosis and comprehensive treatment crucial for people with this kind of allergy.  Venom immunotherapy has been shown to reduce the risk of severe allergic reactions to stings by up to 95%.  We don't want you to be afraid of stings while enjoying the beautiful summer weather!

Contact Dermatitis
Contact dermatitis occurs when the skin comes into contact with a chemical or toxin that leads to a delayed allergic reaction.  Reactions are often delayed 48 to 72 hours making diagnosis difficult.  We offer comprehensive diagnosis and management of contact dermatitis and associated disorders of the skin, including both standardized and custom allergy patch testing.

Drug and Vaccine Allergy
The board-certified doctors at Fairfax Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Clinic can provide up-to-date diagnosis and treatment for many common drug and vaccine allergies.  Whether you have had a severe reaction to a medication, or have just been told since childhood that you were "allergic to penicillin,"  we can help.  We can also help parents sort out the difficult issues they face when deciding if certain vaccines are appropriate for their children.  Penicillin testing is now available!

Eosinophilic Esophagitis/Gastritis
Eosinophilic esophagitis (EE or EoE) is a disorder characterized by the presence of a large quantity of eosinophils, which are a special type of white blood cell, in the lining of the stomach or esophagus (the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach).  Symptoms vary widely, but may include chest pain, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, a feeling of "food getting stuck in the throat," and poor weight gain in children.  The board certified allergists at Fairfax Allergy, Asthma and Sinus Clinic have experience dealing with this complicated disorder, and can perform both traditional allergy testing as well as newer patch testing methods as part of a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment program.
